  1. I think that we can actually invest in our lands, our people, and government by going back to the old ways. If we went back to the old ways then maybe we'll have peace as a nation with out all that lame gang stuff or the horrid addictions we have around here. Maybe we'll have a nice peaceful place to call home. And when we think we need to make a difference we can do it as a whole. And we also GOT TO DO something about the trash. There is waaaaay to much trash here on the lands. So i think we really should go back to the old ways. Back when being a leader actually meant leading a group of people to greatness. So yup these are my thoughts.

  2. Navajos should invest into their land, people, and government by first being able to take care of our land, people, and government. For the Navajo people to invest in their government they could make their own unique government system on a way that they could run their own government, instead of having the same system as the United States. If Navajos were able to do that they could just maybe be able to work their way up to becoming an even more soverign nation than they are now and be able to do more for themselves as people, for their land, and the government they could work their way to. If they were to do that then they could probably be able to even have the oppurtunity to do even more for their people in many ways, for their land they could also be able to do more, make more things that their people need without having to inform the United States of the way they use their own land, water, and their usage of it all. All in all for the Navajo's their are many benefits for them as people. Also, in a way it could affect them negatively since the United States government does help then in some way which would be taken away from Navajos if they were completely soverign.

  3. As the Navajo Nation government are getting more involved in the newer systems of government, we are beginning to have economic problems. In order for us to engage in investment for the people, land, and goverment of the Navajo Nation, we will need to change our lifestyles. As a people, we will need to able to create a healthier lifestyle, down to the physiological needs (food, water, air). Another thing we must do to invest in our people is to start living off the land by growing crops, and making our own food. This will help the people to improve there health, and create investment with selling our home-grown vegetables and fruits. I also believe that we could invest from the land by growing more trees from the land and creating our own wood. One good way to invest in the people would be to give them the responsibility of the navajo culture, and allowing the government more moving space. I believe these small actions will improve the Navajo Nation government, and the lifestyle of the people.

  4. The Navajo tribe should consider in investing more into their people, land, and government. Their people are the most important ones that should be invested in. The people are what keep the tradition and culture alive. Without that we might as well not be called a tribe at all. The younger generations should be the ones being more focused on, because they are the ones who will be in control of the Navajo Nation in the future. If the Navajo tribe invests more into their education, then in the future they will be more well-prepared to run the Navajo Nation. The next thing to invest in, is Navajo lands. How can we improve our land and help it benefit the Navajo people? The Navajo people can try to do more community trash pick-ups or they can try to be more eco-friendly. The Navajos are always talking about "Walking in Beauty", but no one seems to actually live by it. If they say it, then they should stand by what they say. Another thing the Navajos need to invest in, is their government. They should hire people who are qualified to run a functional government; not people who just want to feel important.

  5. What i thought about on how us Navajos should invest into our land, people, and government. I think when every new leader that comes to Window Rock or to the Navajo Nation has always promised to change and reform, but the issues that have troubled the Navajo Nation still exsits. A new vision is in need to bring a change in the Navajo Nation Government with more attention towards resources at the chapter level, to address local needs such as more investment in new jobs and development of exsisting jobs. Establishing rules we can depend on to coordinate our actions and achieve our goals. Understanding governance requires an identification of both the rulers and the rules, as well as the various processes by which they are selected, defined and linked. The powers and character of the power embedded in the governance system of traditional Dine'. Traditional notation is understood as power and thats what we need as a nation.

  6. A way we could invest in their land, people and government is by carefully taking care of what we have. We don't have much land and there we are a growing race. Investing in our people by hearing what they have to say and have a democracy. Also away to invest in our government is by following what our ancestors have done. Refer back to our culture and not following the retro reviews of the western society. As navajos our system of organization is based on "Sa'a Naaghai Bik'e Hozhoon". This system kept the people balanced, at peace, and obediant.

  7. Instead of letting people want to move away from the reservation have people want to stay and live on the reservation. People should start making better investments in schools, housing, and highways. Today the only buildings I see mainly going up are fast food stops, restaurants, and other personal entertainment places. If people truly want to make a difference on the Navajo nation they first need to trigger where we have the most problems. People should not rely entirely on government they too need to make a commitment in helping to fix and address the problems on the Navajo nation. In other means of commitment and helping the Navajo nation is by letting the children know that education is first priority in a successful future. The more knowledge the younger generation has about the situations we face here on the Navajo nation the more they would want to change them. Investments in our younger generation’s education will greatly change the future of the Navajo nation. Giving our children the best knowledge of government will ensure us all a better future. Like most elders say “Our children are our future.” The better our children’s futures are the better the future of the Navajo nation will be. Not knowing what their future responsibilities to keeping this land sovereign will only cause the federal government to take possession of this land, letting the Navajos free and to become part of the American society.

  8. The Navajo people should invest their people, land, and government to improve their standards by becoming more modern and looking at issues bigger than them. The Navajo Nation should consider other issues around the world and take in to consideration which issue affects them most. The Navajo Nation could be the first nation to become the most conservative. We could go back to growing our own crops and raising livestock, instead of importing all our foods from different states. The people could benefit from this because local markets could take their foods they have grown to help them finacially. In return the government could invest more on the people by providing land. The Navajo Nation Government should not rely so much on the Federal Government for aid. The Navajo Nation should begin to push for full sovereignty.
